Hi all,

Ok I'm sort of cheating a bit...as I posted this same photo on the "close ups" forum on 27th March, before I knew the "spring has sprung" challenge for this forum.

Anyway, I took that (this) photo (below) a few weekends ago particularly because it showed to me the spring balance (melting snow and a nearly emerged flower).

Hope it meets the criteria and is appreciated!

Let me have any comments / feedback! Thanks

Paul

Thanks Stitchbabe for your kind comments! Yes, I am glad I caught this lovely little spring flower (next to the snow!)

Yellow, White and a touch of Green. A great composition and a great shot. Kudos!

Hi Paul, I was about to say...haven't I comment on this photo before? I love it and I'm glad to see it posted here too!

Superbly done! The color and details of the flower reach out and grab you.

Hi Cal, Tullio & Selvin!

Thanks for your kind comments all of you.

Cal: Glad you like the colours and composition. I think your idea of spring has sprung was a good one. Simple but very effective and of course a good challenge to get some nice spring on the web too (not just outside!)

Tullio.... indeed you HAVE commented on this photo before (actually you were the first and only one!!) Thanks for being so faithful. Glad you still like it here (familiarity breeds comtempt, does it not?) Again... cheers!

Selvin, I'm happy you also like the photo. Indeed when I saw the flower it was sitting (standing?) very proudly (and very brightly) by itself next to that snow and the lighting was good so I thought: "That's worth a shot". It was only at home I realised the power of the colours, and I think the green helped to give some extra "interesting touch" / balance. Thanks for looking.

All the best to all of you!!

Paul..... oh and "happy spring"! :-)

It wasn't my idea. You have Rose (mommy_culleton) to thank for this challenge.

Whoops! Sorry Rose, for some reason I thought all the weekly photo ideas came from Cal. (shows I don't read this forum quite close enough).

anyway, thanks for clarifying Cal! And to all of you, thanks for providing this fun, free way to share and get feedback (and hopefully improve!) photographic skills.

All the best,

Paul

Paul, ever since I became chief mod and recruited Selvin and Rose to assist, we agreed that we would rotate the posting of challenges. Next week, it is Selvin's turn, then me.
