...and washed the spider out. Well, not quite, but from his dampened condition it appearedthe Spring storm I found him in almost did do the deed.

I really had to control myself not to click on the back button right away for I absolutely hate spiders. There is no way I'd get that close to one. Any close up shot of spiders will have to be donewith my 12x zoom camera with a macro and tele attached to it. That way I'd be able to capture the little creature from 10 feet away (at least). Great photo, though!

My fiancée thought I was crazy for taking that shot.

Just a little size comparison for the faint of heart:

:-)

The first shot seems to be slightly out of focus on my screen but nonetheless the water drops on the spider's body do seem bizarre. I am almost thinking in my brain (s)he's bleeding.

Aloha

I thought it was rather odd too.

I had the camera stoppedup to 3.5and the lens wasabout 1/32" of an inch from touching him, so the depth of fieldwas pretty shallow. I focused in on his body and head. The rest is blurred.

I should have unwatched the topic...big mistake...I can't imagine having my camera that close to a spider...never mind my finger. Great shot, though!
