Hand raised: "Teacher! Teacher! I know! Pick me!" It is a sawdust burner formerly used by sawmills to dispose of their sawdust. They don't use them any more both because of the pollution they produce and the fact that sawdust and bark chips are used to make landscaping materials and chipboard, commodities that produce additional revenue!

The burner is quite dark in this photo. In reality it is probly red with rust. I think spot metering would have made the front of the burner show up better. The bright sky fooled your meter and caused it to underexpose the picture a bit..

LOL at Cal...yes, you're absolutely right! We have them all over B.C. This one looks very old and rickety and as Cal said, probably quite rusty....thanks for sharing this one!!

Picture noise is very high around the edges.
