There is a walking/jogging path that runs alongthis country road, whichcan be very slippery when wet, specially going up the hill. Well, the locals decided to build this yellow-brick path to help them go over this no-so-steep hill. I though it was pretty cute! Here aretwo different views.

Most interesting. I've never seen anything like that. I can really see the benefit when it is wet.

The vanishing point is more evident in the first photo but is present in both.

The yellow brick road clearly vanishes...

In any idea why they painted it yellow? An allusion tothe Wizrd of Oz?

Very nicely captured. Because of the bright yellow color the eye is certainly attracted and led on a journey...

Aloha

Hi Selvin, I think they painted yellow because it's a bright color that stands out and everyone can see. They actually used a glow-in-the-dark yellow paint so night time joggers can see the path (I guess). However, it does not work too well (perhaps the paint isgetting old). It only glows for about 30 minutes after sunset or...perhaps it's on a timer!:lol::lol:

Oh, I could not resist the idea of yellow brick. For two quick answers: I love anything made of brick or earth and yellow is my favourite colour! Plus, last but not least; shot by yourself..
Selvin just hit the nail on the head by the allusion of Wizard of Oz! The artificial flowers give such a fairy air.
Overall, too cute to be real:-)
I must also add that, in them, your trying a lower point of view is of appreciation.

Thanks for your insightful comments (and compliments), Bahadir. This is indeed very a very unique path. There are hundreds of jogging trails all over the Bay Area and my guess is that no other trail has such a path.
