OK, not 100% sure this fits, but thought I would give it a shot any who.
Reflection in the windows, shadow/light pattern of sunlight filtered through the trees.

Well, you've got some shadows and a reflection but it's really not a very spectacular photo. The shadows are very fuzzy and the reflection is very small. As a result, the garage door is not very interesting.

You've got the right idea, however. Try to find a scene where the shadows are sharper and the reflection(s) is/are more prominent. You've got a three-day weekend ahead of you. Keep your eyes open and watch for those photo opportunities that others will miss.

While you do have the elements, the mix isn't really an eye-catcher. The shadows cast my the trees really aren't all that interesting. I think Cal put it that they are fuzzy, while that may be true I personally think that fuzzy alone isn't enough to doom them to uninteresting.
