Ohmygosh!! Bite your tongue, Momma. This, too, will pass.

Tigerwing,

Ohh boy! Wait till my grand-daughter starts doing this.

Walter I hope you're right that this too shall come to pass.

Certainly a colorful shot!

Aloha

LOL, I'm with you guys, but you know, this is the wildest thing my daughter ever did, and I feel very lucky that's the extent of it, in this day and age. This is what she wanted for her 16th birthday! The color is true in the photo - actually it's very pretty!
Oh - the joys of parenting!

Now that I think about it, there will surely be another phase about 60 years from now. The shot caused me to grab my pen and compose a poem. Here are the first few lines from what turned out to be a lengthy look into the future of my marriage.

Abiding Love

Blue is the color of my true love's hair

False are the teeth that she is forced to wear

Finding a four-leaf clover, down she bends

I saw the brilliant white of new Depends

Then for her hearing aids I'llsoon be paying

So she can understand the words I'm saying

Now, tho, I'm shouting so that I'll be heard

All down the block they hear me, word for word

What, then, you ask that makes our love endure,

Now that our champagne toasts are with Ensure?

It helps that our arguments before December

Try as I might I simply can't remember

Since its only January you'd surmise

In a memory contest I would win no prize

It has its advantages, tho, for each new day

I can see my sweetheart in a brand new way

Veryhumorous poem, Walter. You seem to have an additional gift beside photography.I wonder....did you share this with yoru wife..? LOL

As for the daughter with blue hair...I think you are a terrific parent. There are so many more important battles to be waged besides their hair. I hope she loves her hair and loves you for allowing it...you are the cool parent!

vsch1

The wife will get it tonight when she gets home from the salt mines.

Here's the rest of it

Magazine subscriptions filled with beauty ads

New body parts, the latest fitness fads

Look younger, feel better, live forever

Hand me the paper, Dear, Obits and Weather

Folks look right through you when you're old and grey

What use are they, I read their looks to say.

New Starbucks programmed on their GPS

New Bemer's got them way in debt, I'd guess

Red is the color of my true love's nails

A score of toes and fingers loud as siren's wails

Maybe she thinks ‘cause I'm a mental midget

I won't notice each includes a wrinkled digit

Walter,

Your rhyming artful odes are a perfect fit.

One small favor, can you not use Yellow for lettering? Some screens have difficulty dispaying readable text when it's yellow.

Walter's Ode

I once knew a dude, whose odes were far from crude,

His verse was so prophetic, they praised him didactic,

With iambic skill, and compositional deeds he continued to thrill.

Somewhat crude, but hey, that's what you get after 15 minutes.

Aloha
