Took this one a couple months ago, trying to brighten a typicaly dreary PNW day.

Another posting for Selvin? This is another example of using a low shooting angle to give the appearance that the small hula dancer was really dancing on the beach.

I think this would have been better with increased depth of field. The background is fuzzy which gives the appearance that the figurine was photographed in front of a printed backdrop. I know that's not the case. It appears that it was late in the day so to stop down the lens for better dof, would result in a very slow shutter speed. That would require a steady tripod.

Broncosaurus,

My lovely hula girl is probably pooped from doing the hula all day. The setting is certainly dislocated but as others have noted I wish the image were a tad sharper.

I took this with a Sony PnS I received last Christmas. I found the camera to be very limiting, but it did get me over my prejudice against (or was it fear of) digital photography. I'm now a happy owner of a Rebel xt and rediscovering the joys of SLRs.
