Those boots are certainly dislocated! What is that arrangement of wires they are hanging from? I looks like a wire is passing through the toe of the upper one.

How about telling us more about this shot.

Here in Memphis, Tn. you see shoes hanging from phone lines from time to time. Someone i work with told me it is a "gang warning" that someone is in for a beat down. I don't know if that's true but thoes shoes are hanging just down the street from a crack house. I had my camera in my lap, window rolled down, doors locked, pulled over and stoped, clicked off a few shots and was on down the road in about 15 seconds.

That's a good shot andonecreepy story. Not sure I'dhave the guts to spare those 15 seconds.

BigChuck

You win a special prize for risking your life and five grand worth of equipment stopping in "the hood" just to post here.

Then, again, it could have been some frustrated wife sending her husband a message about his too-fragrant footwear.

I had noticed these occasionally but never thougth of that explanation.

These are certainly dangerous times in "Dodge City"

Given the conditions under which the shot was taken I think it might be presumptious to ask things like, "Why didn't you stop and try a different angle", or "Could you have changed to a different special filter to ...."

Lovely candid and it certainly gets a vote for taken under challenging conditions to meet a challenge.
