OK. No political commentary this time. Since there's no beach nearby (North Texas) I had to fabricate one. Hope you don't mind.

Canon 20D, 17-40L, f8, 1/15th sec., ISO 200. I used a light box for this shot.

(PS: The title should have read "18 doses", not 8)

If Ex-Lax is as good as it is supposed to be, you had better watch out. You might have a real mess in that pile of shells.

The second shot has me puzzled. I am trying to come up with a connection between the shells, calculator, and baby aspirin. I can't think of one. I like the colors of the calculator and the fact that it is partially buried in the shells. The baby aspirin looks like it is trying to escape or it was late and running to get on board.

Good work!

Cal

Walter

It may require several boxes to be affective.

Good luck,

Isn't that the idea...to photograph something in an unusual or unexpected location. The seashore evokes thoughts of fun and relaxation. The last thing you would expect to see at the beach is a calculator. The aspirin bottle simply emphasizes the result of trying to do a laborous task in such a peaceful setting.

(anyone else get it?)

Walter,

We've been expecting so much in terms of universal themes from you that when you post asimple one people are looking for hidden meanings.

Actually as Sigmund Freud allegedly once said when asked to comment on the implications of cigar he was smoking, " Sometimes a cigar is nothing but a cigar."

The details of the shells in your shot are beautiful. I wondered if Ex-Lax was off the market but judging from your shot it isn't.

Cheers

Selvin

Yes, in this instance I was trying to do something in a compressed space where I could control all of the elements, lighting, etc., and still convey a "disconnect" between them.
