Vanessa mentioned graveyard. Are those stone objects grave markers or ancient obelisks? Nice shot. Some fill-flash might have helped bring out the details in the obelisks

Those are pillars at the entrance to the cemetery. I would have never thought of using the flash on a sunny day. I will have to give it a try. Good idea.

Jeff,

Unusual idea but meets the challenge. We have pair of radio personalities here in Honolulu who just celebrated 'Leon Day" by playing Christmas music all day long. There objective was to provide Christmas music for those would not live till Christmas. Leon is simply "Noel" spelt backwards. Leon day is halfway thru the year.

As to your exposure problem. You can also get around that most of the time by using your photo editor. Use of your editor shouldn't be a universal solution for not taking the shot correctly the first time but comes in very handy when you can't re-shoot.
