This is my daughter riding her Yamaha 50 around. This shot was from some of my first experiments with panning to give the illusion of speed. (trust me she is not very fast:G, good form though)

Interesting, I can see it in a firefox Browser, but not in IE (just a red X) I will try to figure it out.

Thanks for the heads up.

Very well executed. The sense of motion is beautifully displayed.

Aloha and thanks for sharing.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. I was shooting these in the early evening, with a Canon 20D, set to "Sports" mode. The data on the file says shutter speed 1/30, f 5.6, and ISO 400.

I just "found" this section of the forums, and think it will be cool to submit things now and then. I am having fun looking at all the other submissions in here too.

...I thought that sports mode was supposed to freeze action, like this one taken at SeaWorld with my p850 in sports mode, andI think I was evenpanning that shot .

The motorcycle shot is great. I can't say as much for the amusement park.

Regarding sports mode, I wouldn't use it. I don't recommend using any of the preset modes unless you really understand what they do. If you try to guess the function of a preset you will be seriously disappointed with the results. Read your manual thoroughly to learn how the presets work. However, to really learn photography and how to get the most out of your camera, forget the presets and learn to use program auto mode, shutter priority, and aperture priority. If you really want to learn photography, learn to use manual exposure mode.

My 2 cents worth!

Cal
