Here are a couple of ATVs running in the sand. They are not racing but just enjoying themselves. The location is the Sand Lake Recreation Area on the Southern Oregon Coast. Note the ATV on the left is "In Flight".

Nikon D100, Nikon 80-300mm lens, focal length 122mm, 1/500th at f5.6

Nice action shot, I like the trail the atv on left is kicking up.

Best regards,

Cal,

The details in thedust trails created by the speed of the bikes is well executed.

You're right, the first bike on the left is actually flying at least momentarily.

An excellent photo but, in my opinion, it does not qualify.

This is a stop action photo.

Neither the subject (ATVs) nor the background are blurred showing motion as required by Selvin's statement of what meets the challenge.

It is a great photo though and they look like they are having a ball.

Quoting from the challenge description: " The challenge this period is to submit shots using these or other techniques to convey a sense of motion." Showing wakes or dust trails behind a vehicle definitely show motion.

I have several speedboat shots from my camping trip this past weekend that leave no doubt about motion when you look at the wake and spray and see the bow riding high. I was reluctant to post them but, after rereading the challenge description, I may go ahead.
