This was more difficult then I had intended. Not from the technical side of getting the motion but from some other factors not as much in my control. I wanted a place to stand with the sun behind me, with a dark background with highlights and the horse running by fast so I could get a good pan with a long lens. What I was able to get was the sun in my face with the horse close (That meant I had to use a wider lens fighting sun flares) to me. I only had access to one side of the field. To top it off the horses did not run all that fast. There was not enough room for them to get up to speed. I did get the background thou. If it had been easy it would not be as much fun!

Daz,

As you said, the effort was equally gratifying as the product.

The shhot definitely shows the motion and I congratulate you. Very good job.

Aloha

I like what you have accomplished. In spite of many obstacles, you have done a great job. Was this taken at one of those medieval festivals?

Thanks Cal. They have these things all over mostly on the weekends in the summer. When this challenge came up I thought this would be a good time to go. The one I was going to go to is in a bigger field but ended last weekend for the summer. The one I went to I think is more establish (you can have catered parties for example) but it is in a more wooded area. This has its advantages but not as much room for the houses to run and the audience can only be on one side.
