When I was looking for the helicopter photo I can across this one I had emailed to a friend when I was down in LA After the wind stops blowing, everyone wants to know when they are going to get power back. Everyone is looking up the road hoping to see these guys coming more then just about anyone else. These guy work sunup to sundown 7 days a week for months getting the power back up.

Pentax *ist DS 1/3000 sec f 9.5 210 mm ISO 200 and editing stuff @ 10/01/05 Lake Charles LA.

Nice shot of the repair action. It just goes to show you never know when a photo opportunity is going to pop up. That's one of the purposes of this forum--to open your eyes to opportunities that you might never have thought of before.

BTW--I corrected a spelling error in your post.

Daz,

One very minor quibble about a lovely shot. I might have cropped off the top worker in the cherry picker and focussed only on the bottom two since their silhouette is so pronounced.

Just a thought.

Aloha

Thanks calr for the comments and you go on and correct my spelling any time. I have been working on my photography and my spelling for decades but only my photography has gotten a little better.

Vsch1, the power had been down for about 2 weeks at this time. They are replacing the transformer for the town of Lake Charles EOC (Emergency Operations Center) so presumably getting the power up to this building was a priority. Still things take time when just about every thing is down.

Thanks selvin, when I look at it that way I to may like it better.

Excellent photo. As Vanessa mentioned, there's lots of details, lots to see!
