2 weeks is pretty fast drain. It might be your batteries. I had a similar problem with my Kodak camera until I replaced the old rechargeables with a new set. Now the camera doesn't say low batteries after sitting a few days.

The 430EX is never totally off since some power is required to keep your programmed settings. They probably should have used flash memory to store the settings instead of NVRAM.

Same behavior with fresh alkalines, if you have a 430EX or two, try it.
