I have a Canon 10D and I need a new battery. I see that there are aftermarket BP-511's for sale from Sterling Tech. Has anyone purchased these or any other brand that may be a good alternative to the expensive Canon OEM. Comments and feedback welcome.

Thanks for your time. :|

I get all my replacements from Tigerdirect.com....I buy the Eveready Energizer, $29.95, the last time I bought one...They have a higher mhz rating than the canon and seem to last longer...I have several approching 3yrs and they all still charge up fine....How long the charge lasts depends on how much you use the lcd screen...I have a 10D, 20D and 5D and use the same batterys for all 3 cameras...

I got one at Radio Shack for $14 (it's on manager special and some stores have it for $10!)...fits great (unlike some nonCanons that don't pop out easily) and works fine...

I buy my batteries from Sterlingtek also:

In my opinion they are just as good as the Canon's, a few of them I have owned acouple ofyears and they are still going strong, like the original Canon BP-511's. Shipping is $6.99 within the US which is a little on the expensive side... So it comes to a total of about $18.00 for one.

(For fathersday they had a coupon code June07 which gives you free shipping, but it expired on the 16th. You could still give it a try...)
