an Italian friend of mine, pro photographer, has recently added a 40D to his set in substitution for a 350D. He also uses a 5D.
He uses CS3 and ACR to process the RAW and has the last plugins update versions.

In the overexposed areas of skies, clipped HL and similar, when he manages to recover color info, instead of cyan-blue or even grey he gets a magenta color cast from 40D Raws. This is evident in shots from 320 ISO up.
He sent the 40D back and Canon (strangely) admitted the problem.

"Strangely" enough because they now provided him a new 40D with exactly the same issue of magenta cast in OE zones of the pics.

It seems the problem is mostly connected with the RAW output, although even the jpg seems to be affected, though at a minor degree, by this problem.
Do you have any idea of info of similar behaviours in EOS 40D ?
Do you have any suggestion about possible Post Processing software involvement ?

Read elsewherethat even Lightroom causes a similar issue when importing Raws or even jpgs in standard mode.
