I have a 2x that will cost me 1 f stop. If I decide to use that 2x (say for wild life) in connection with this lens, that would give me 400x plus what my XSi camera body give me. Do you think I'll have AF problems with arrangement or no problems at all........because it simply won't work:-)

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you guys....you're knowledge base blows me away everytime I ask a question.
To follow up JohnG response: If you're already thinking about a teleconverter then the 70-200 is just too short because even with a 1.4x, you're already 'degrading' its IQ (i.e. @ the f/4 equivalent) and not use the lens as designed, as no lens with a TC can equal a lens without...

-> A 100-300 f/4 EX is probably a better choice since this lens is also one of the sharpest lens Sigma makes and it used to cost less than a 70-200 f/2.8 when combined with a 1.4xTC!

Well...........I went with the Sigma 70-200 2.8.

It was just delivered to my office. Oh my goodness. The DOF is incredible!!! I shot a few quick photos with the flash turned off. WOW.

Can't wait to find something real to shoot this weekend!!

I own two Sigma lenses and I've been quite happy with them.

They have a good feel in the hand, "built like a tank" and generally I've been quite pleased with the results.
