in your photos the spot metering has a brighter exposure. spot metering is mainly for if your subject is backlit (ex: standing in front of a window and the sun is very bright outside, if you take the shot with evaluative the person would appear as a silhouette, now if you use spot metering it will light up your subject, but then it will also blow out your background) you just have to work on your exposure, and also an on camera strobe would work well! not so much your built in flash. also try a custom white balance, that will make a huge difference! good luck, john
