Default Canon XSi bracketing/firmware question

Hello all,

I own the Canon XSi and am starting to love HDR photography. However the downside is that the camera only does a 3 photo bracket. Does anyone know of a firmware "hack" that allows it to go to 5, 7, or even 9 photo bracket?

Thank you

You do not need a hack. The default AEB uses 0 as a center point. You use the buttons to the left and right of the set button while in menu mode to control one to three stops bracketing. Once out of the menu setting, use the Av button with the scroll wheel to vary the center point, doing so will allow +/- four stops of bracketing. You can vary the center point while the camera is on the tripod and take multiple sets of three with different center points in order to maximize number of bracketed shots, as for HDR purposes.
