For portraits, weddings, landscape - choose the 5D2.

Everything else go 7D. The 7D is a better camera, but the 5D2 has better IQ if you have the lenses to match.

If I had the money I'd go FF with the 5D II, no question. Crop bodies like the 50D and 7D may have high resolution sensors but the wide and ultrawide lens options for these cameras just can't produce the IQ of the 16-35mm L and 17-40mm L on a full frame body.

5D II is my next camera, if I ever go pro
