I would go for the T1i. For me, the most significant difference is the higher
resolution of the rear LCD display.

If you are interested in shooting video, spend a little extra and get
a T2i. The T1i is almost useless as a video camera because it
doesn't have an input for an external microphone. The T2i can
also shoot full HD at 30fps.

The t2i is better laid out with a dedicated live view button
