Default Canon EOS 7D Firmware Updates

The latest news from Canon:

Canon EOS 7D firmware update.

The new features added to the v2 firmware for Canon EOS 7D, a 3 year old camera, are very exciting!.

This camera has really served me well in the last 2 years, especially as a photographer transitioning to video, who is always on the go.

What do you guys think about the update? Did Canon leave something out?

It is sort of like getting a new camera for free, but for me I don’t see any game changers. The GPS would be cool but not sure if it is $270 cool for the receiver. I can see using the custom file naming. Faster scrolling of magnified image would be nice too but had not seen that as an issue before.

I read something on another site that was suggesting the upgrades were needed to keep the 7D performance better than the expected release of one of Canons lower level cameras.
