Hey guys,
I have been looking all around the forum to find someone who had the same issue, couldn't find anything. My problem appeared this morning when I switched lenses, the back of the mirror on my 5D MarkII stays down when I switch to live view mode, as you can see on this picture: ![]() Which results obviously on having a big black bar at the bottom of the frame ![]() Is there anyone who had this issue before? Any advise? Thanks for your time and expertise! |

Sounds like the mirror fell off its mount,
Was a known issue on the 5D's. (both original mk-i and mk-ii) had this issue http://cpn.canon-europe.com/content/...rror_repair.do Only thing to do is contact canon and see if they will repair it still. Used to be a free repair during the recall period. |

Thanks for your answer.
Took to a repair shop, the issue is that the submirror holder, a tiny piece on the side, broke. They need to take out the whole cage to replace the sub-mirror. Cost around $400. |
