Default Rumor or fact?

Now that Tamron has a 24-70 2.8 with Vibration Control and Nikon's 24-70 2.8 with VR, I've got to believe that Canon must be on the same path.

Any "reliable" rumors about a Canon 24-70 2.8f with IS? If so, is there printed rumor or is it just word of mouth?

Faithfully Yours,

I have stopped making wishes on Canon to put out certain equipment I wanted. When their competitors have certain lenses out and making a killing on the market. We are just standing on the sideline and keeping on wishing for it. I really wish they will put out something like Nikon's 200-500 mm f/5.6 VR for $1400, but this is just wishful thinking on my part.
