I did find that if you do the right about of light sharpening, it won't bring out the noise. Not always, but often.

I found that the noise showed up more in darker areas than in lighter ones. So it was picture dependent.

I've got enough things on my plate right now that I've delayed this. But I'm going to look at FM's sharpening actions, Nik Sharpener Pro and FocalBlade. I've heard that the FM camera specific ones beat Nik Sharpener Pro. I don't know how they compare to FocalBlade yet.
