I just got my Rebel back after 2 months of waiting on calibration, Now, at the most inopportune time, I'm getting error 99 and error 01 messages. I unscrew my lens, rescrew it in, and the message stops and the lens works okay. This happens with either Canon "only" and "Sigma" extender combined, so it isn't simply a Canon and Sigma problem. What is error 01? I have some idea on 99. I'm finished with the Rebel. Going to return it and get a 10D (hopefully it will be a bit less problematic and more durable).

Error 99 can be anything: It's a catch all error, even error 01 + other errors... Hey this is a sophisticated PC after all :?

Norm, sorry to hear that. So I take it you bought your 300D local? That's the bad thing about buying online. Any issue like that, you're pretty much stuck.
