I've had my digi rebel for 4 months now, and have been absolutely thrilled with it. However, I seem to now have a problem with the basic lens (it shipped with). I use AF most of the time, but now it doesn't respond. Upon further investigation, I noticed that my aperture value is "00" and could not be changed in any mode. I took the lens off and on repeatedly to no avail. I understand that auto focus won't work if the AV is low. Well, I don't get an AV now! When I put on my 75-300mm lens, voila, i have an aperture value and autofocus works! I would assume that it's a problem with the contacts between the camera body and the basic lens, and that the problem is with the lens, not the body. Any thoughts!!?
