I currently have a Conon Drebel and have been thinking of upgrading to 20d also. Would you recommend upgrading lens first to L-series lens or upgrading 300d to 20D.

Which will I see more improvement to actual photos better lens or better camera?

I have the 580EX flash, 18-55 kit 55-200, and 50 1.8.

I guess it really depends on what your needs are... On the lower ISOs I'm guessing the image quality will be about the same. The 20D of course has more pixels but for what I do the DRebel's 6.2 was enough... the extra MPs just allows more cropping..

For me I shot mostly in the upper ISO range 800/1600 and now 3200... so for me that was enough reason to upgrade. I've also have a couple of 2.8 lens that I'm happy with...
