Hello, I have to buy a telezoom for my canon 20d. I am thinking of sigma 50-500 or sigma 80-400 OS (Optical stabilizer). What you guys suggest ? Do you guys know the main difference between both lens? Any suggestion ? What's better? Thanks, Alexandre

They both have something the other lack:
1. The 50-500 has 'HSM' - faster and quieter focus with full-time manual AF overide
2. The 80-400 has 'OS' - has optical stabilizer but not as fast in focus.

... Going strictly by MTF the 50-500 is slightly better

I've seen these charts before, but have never found an explination of how to read them. Can you point me in the right direction?
Ron :?:
