Just got back from the Canon Service Centre in Stoke on Trent. It turned out that my camera definately needed calibarating.

I got told that most of the cameras that are sent out from the factory can be anything up to 5cm out of focus for every 1 foot.

For my two cents....Get your camera into a centre and have it calibrated, regardless!

The good news for me.....Done under warranty as the camera is less than 12 months old, so only travel costs were inccured.
