I recently uploaded 170 images to Winkflash for printing. I was very impressed by their prompt service. However, I was disappointed in the prints I received from them. They all were dark, with muted colors.

I then went to my local Costco and printed 20 photos from the same group of files, and these came out fine. Same with a 16 X 24 print I had done at the Kodak site: it looked brighter and more vivid thana similar enlargement from Winkflash.

I called Winkflash (and actually spoke with a polite, live human being!). They said that they get about 1 or 2 calls a day with complaints like mine. They said I could return any product that I wasn't happy with, but they didn't really have a solution to offer me.

Any ideas out there? At this point, while still learning the basics of using my 20D, and improving my editing skills, I would really rather not get into profiles, calibration (beyond Adobe Gamma), etc., unless it is really necessary to get satisfactory results. In lieu of a reasonably easy solution, I will probably stick with Costco for most of my printing.

Thanks for any input.

It seems like Winkflash need profiling not your pictures, stick with Costco.
