Hi All,

Can anyone tell me if the 350D shows as removalble drive when plugged into a Windows XP machine or do I need to install the software suite onto my PC to access the images?

I would recommend you get a card reader, and down load your picture that way. Much faster, and less trouble than plugging your camera in to your computer. You can pick up good card readers for under $20.

well, although I would agree with getting a card reader...

just to answer your question: you need to install the software in order to directly interact with the camera. but it's not just limited to uploading pictures...

you could change the camera settings and take the picture from the computer... pretty nifty, but probably useless for a good portion of users
