I have a Canon Digital Rebel 300D and I purchased the Quantaray 18-125 F/3.5-6.5 (Which I was told is the same as the Sigma) about 2 years ago and I noticed lately (probably all along but it is just starting to bother me) that my pictures are not as sharp as I would like them to be. I also notice that the depth of focus is not very good either. I was wondering if the new Quantaray 18-125 F/3.5-5.5 has improved the focusing and depth of focus from the old lens

I like what versatility that the 18-125 lens give me is there another brand that would be better?

Well in the first place, I don't know who told you that the Quantaray was the same as the Sigma, but they are dead wrong. It is no where close to the quality of the Sigma lens, or Tamron, or Tokina, or Canon lenses either. Try the Sigma 18-125, I'm sure you will see a huge difference.
