Hey i was wondering if this lens is any good. I can get it on sale here at a local store for about $150.00 Right now i have the canon 75-300mm F/4-5.6 lll zoom lens. Is the sigma lens any better then the canon. And is it worth buying since i have a zoom lens already.

If you already have a similar lens why waste the money? I'm sure there is a faster lens you may need.

Sigma (APO version) overperformes that Canon lens you already have. It's very sharp until 200, and a bit soft 200-300. If you stop it at f8.0 it can be very good at 300mm also.

I have it, and love it. The only better choice is Canon 70-300 USM IS (with no 'DO'). It's exceptional lens, but costs almost as 3 Sigmas. Similiar optical qualities as Sigma, but stabilized.

If you don't need faster lens, Sigma is great value choice.
