Hi guys,

I bought a Canon 400D at Xmas ready for my trip to Hawaii in August (I thought I'd better have some time getting used to it). I bought the bundle which included the 18-55mm kit lens, plus a Canon 60mm Macro and a Sigma 70-300mm APO.

I went for the kit lens as it was only an additional 20 UK pounds which meant I could afford a macro and telephoto. However, the pound is particularly strong at the moment (2:1) so I might keep an eye out on holiday.

I was originally thinking of a Canon EF-S 17-85 f4-5.6 IS USM, but are there any others worth considering. I've been using the 60mm Macro for portraits and the quality is cracking, so maybe I don't necessarily need the 85mm range. I guess I'm looking at a budget of 600 - 700 dollars.
