What does the DG version offer above the other??

A higher price tag :G

Seriously - Sigma put additional coatings on the elements to cut down on flare. I've never heard of or seen any evidence that it makes a difference. I know after they put the 'DG' coating on the 120-300 they raised the price from $1900 to $2700. So, you're just going to pay more for the DG version - no other changes were made to the 100-300 beyond the coating.
