Default Sigma 100-300mm f/4 APO EX DG HSM or Sigma APO 150-500mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM

I am hesitating between these 2 lenses

I could have a secondhand 100-300mmf/4 + Sigma 1.4ex converter DG for the price of a new 150-500mm f/5-6.3
It's for sport photography

What sort of sports are you wanting to shoot and under what conditions? Also for what use are you wanting to shoot? The 100-300 is a much sharper lens and the AF is quite a lot faster, both that will be helpful for sports shooting. It seems that at the long end the 150-500 is really not as sharp as one would hope. I've not yet seen anyone shooting sports with this lens so can't say how it would perform in this environment but it wouldn't be my choice.
