Default Substitute For Canon Lens for Fisheye?

I'm looking into buying a lens for my Canon EOS to give me the fisheye effect. As you know they don't come cheap.
Is there another alternative. I've heard of these Opteka lens. Would anyone suggest or recommend them as a substitute?

I'm not familiar with that lens.

But I am familiar with the Pentax 10-17 mm fisheye...I have one and it's a favourite lens.

Tokina offers a 10-17mm fisheye...which I believe is the Pentax lens, with a Canon mount.

Not sure of the cost in the USA...maybe in the $ 400-500 area...just guessing.

The Opteka is a version of the Samyang 8mm f/3.5 fisheye. The same lens is sold under the Vivitar, Bower and Pro Optic brand names (and probably a few more), and more surprisingly, labeled with a range of focal lengths.

There's a review on PhotoZone.de: http://www.photozone.de/canon-eos/526-samyang8f35eos

Try to get hold of the Peleng 8mm. I have one, but its strictly a fun lens. Not a serious lens for architechture or anything.

I picked one for 100$ and i dont regret the money spent on it

Here is one picture.
