The lens came late this afternoon and it was raining outside. I am forced to test it indoors using an old Vivitar 283 flash on my 5D MK II. This lens is the cheapest lens with VC which works on a full frame DSLR. I paid $309 for it provided that I get $50 back form a mail-in rebate. The reviews I have read from different sites are so-so. But after looking at this 5 shots, I think I got a pretty lens for the money. They shots were made at 70mm, 100mm, 135mm, 200mm and 300mm at f/8, 1/125 sec, ISO 400 bounced flash with camera set to manual.

I think its a good deal for the $$$ you paid for the lens. The shots are fine as well.Taking the reviews and the reviewers with a pinch of salt seems to be a good policy.

I have that lens and am rather fond of it. It has a little more CA than I'm used to in high contrast areas, but seldom noticeable. The next step up from this lens is a lot more expensive.
