Has anyone in the group tried the new Canon 70-300 IS USM DO lens yet?Is it worth the money over the old 75-300 IS USM?

It's not hard to beat since the old 75-300mm IS USM is nothing to write home about... http://www.photozone.de/2Equipment/easytxt.htm#Ztelel

Of those two lenses, I would buy neither. The 70-300 DO is overpriced for what you get, and the 75-300 IS USM is a $200 lens with image stabilization added for an additional almost $200. For the price of a 70-300 DO you should go ahead and buy the 70-200 f2.8 (non-IS) USM lens. Your very best buy in that range is a 70-200 f4L and you can add a 1.4 II tele converter, keep fast AF and get the extension to a much sharper 300mm f5.6. The 75-300mm IS lens is not very good at all from 200-300mm.
