The first shipment of the new 18-200mm (metal mount) Sigma DC lensfor Canondigital SLRs should arrive at Sigma USA on April 5, 2005.

18-200 lenses to fit Nikon, Pentax, and Sigma to follow a week or two later.

Stores should have them in stock shortly after.

I anxiously await the test results for this lens. If it is as bad as the Tamron lens of the same specs this will be a no-show in my book. The Tamron is junk from what I have seen of example photos and, IMO, not worth half of what they ask for it. Very soft focus through the entire range and terrible fringing at 18mm and f3.5.
