Any recommendations for a good macro lens for the XT?

killdeer, just about every macro lense out seems to get good reviews. it depends on what price you want to pay and how much distance from lense to subject you want. the longer the focal length the more distance from the subject you have for a 1:1 magnification. here's a list of some of the most used macros on these boards:

canon 100mm f/2.8 approx $500

canon 180mm L f/3.5 approx: $1300

sigma 105mm f/2.8 approx $500

sigma 150mm f/2.8 approx $600

sigma 180mm f/3.5 approx $900

tamron 90mm f/2.8 approx ????

tamron 180mm f/3.5 approx $900

the prices may be off a bit as i am going by memoey and that isn't too good these days. the sigma 150mm is getting rave reviews as well as the tamron 180mm hope this helps.
