I have a Canon 80-200 f/2.8L and 300mm f/4L and I am in the market for a Teleconverter for these lenes, although I guess it would be mainly for the 300mm f/4. I understand the Canon TC will not fit the 80-200 because of the protruding element. The Tamron TCs(both the black one and the white SP)will fit either lens from what I understand. I also understand the Canon is probably sharpest edge to edge with the Tamron being a little soft in the corners. Sigmas TC seems to be well constructed, but also has the protruding element and can be soft in the corners too.
Any experience with these teleconverters out there? Opinions?

The black Tamron 1.4x is no slouch and you'll get good images with it on your 300L. That said, the SP version is better, especially at the corners. On most sized prints, you're not going to notice much difference.
