I have just bought a S3 IS for my daughter and found to my surprise that a hard copy of its advanced user manual was not supplied - only on CD. On enquiery, Canon South Africainforned me that it is no longer supplied in a hard copy due to its size - 166 pages. This does not make any sense to me as I also have an EOS 350D that came with a pocket sized advanced manual consisting of 170 pages.

Surely Canon can't expect anyone going around with a laptop to access the manual when you are taking photos out in the "field".

Would like to know if this an international "policy" of Canon, or only applicable to Canon South Africa?
