Default Sekonic L-358 flash meter with Canon 10D

I just purchased a Sekonic L-358 flash meter--great piece of equipment but I find that when I use it with my 10D it suggests settings that end up overexposed on my camera. I have only used it in the studio so far under electronic flash (haven't yet tested it in the outdoors or under ambient) but I find that there is definitely some compensation that needs to happen. Just wondering if anyone else uses these 2 pieces of equipment in tandem and what your findings have been. Thanks!
