i have recently bought a canon s3 is, i then bought off ebay an adapter tube, filter and clip on cap, the adapter is not a snug fit and does wobble slightly, unless a firm grip is taken, i do understand i may end up having to buy the correct adapter in the end, however i will still have the kenko uv filter (any good)? and end cap,

my main question however, is that i am looking to buy the tc-dc58b, cheapest price from a local shop is £80 and i have now discovered a tc-dc58n, of which is identical focal legnth of 1.5, but this is aimed at the g5, it has the same 58mm thread, but on comparing pictures of both lens, seems to have a shorter body than the tc-dc58b, i can obtain this from amazon for £56 (tc-dc58n)

can some one tell me if this will work with the s3 is?, as the n version has a different adapter to the b version, i imagine the difference being the attachment to the camera end as both have screw in 58mm on the adapter to lens ends

is there a difference, or is it a marketing ploy to make me buy the dearer lens

thanks for any help or advice offered, alan
