Hey, I just "upgraded" from an A80, that I loved but lost, to an SD800. I'll miss the custom controls and the little twist out LCD from the A80, but the SD800 does have IS and it is kinda cute and its LCD is about twice the size.

But I'm wondering if there's a way to lock in custom settings in any of the shooting modes, most likely the M mode.

Particularly, I'd like to be able to lock in the spot meter and the continuous shooting settings, but it always seems to go back to the default setting when I change modes or turn the camera off and on. It will allow me to keep some of the other non-default settings like turning the flash off, so maybe I'm missing something.

I'm hoping there's a work around or maybe some way to access the firmware to set that up or a hack or something. Otherwise, I'll have to reset it each time I turn the camera on.

Any ideas? Thanks.
