Default canon s4oo or casio qv-r40

Which of these is the better model to you guys?

I want a small camera that is lightweight.

Here are my two drawbacks to each of these.

Canon - proprietary battery pack - I already have rechargeable batteries

Casio - sd card - I already have cf - guess I could buy new ones

Also, the canon has an underwater cover available. and not on the casio.

Anyone have anything else to tell me about the s400

I recently bought the S400, and love it! I don't think you should obsess too much about the battery format. I picked up a second battery on the Internet for $15. The camera comes with a very portable external charger.

Default Canon S400

I started with the Canon S100, recently upgraded to the 400. I love it. I bought extra batteries, and spent 2 1/2 months in India. With 3 memory chips, I took all my pics with ease. The batteries hold life longer if you don't charge till ALL the power is used up. Not by taking pics, but keeping the camera on, and snapping just to use the power until ALL juice is gone. I have three, and just change them out as I'm out taking pics, and then drain them before recharging later. I love the small size. While in India, I kept my camera in my tote ALL the time, to keep it safe from pilfering. When ready to upgrade, I looked at some many other cameras, and couldn't find anything that suited my needs any better. I thought to go to one that takes rechage AA's, but all other factors kept bringing me back to the Canon. Good luck.
