Default is my s45 broken?

has anyone noticed that the sliding lid that turns on your canon s45 often doesn't close parallel to the camera? mine sometimes is angled up and away from the camera. i can feel that i can push the lid down while sliding the camera closed (therefore lifting up the other end before remaining up). i contacted canon and they want me to send it in. before i pay to ship this thing and have some tech mess around with it, can anyone tell me if this has happened to their camera?
please help!!

I'm experiencing the same thing with my S30...I just got off the phone with the warranty company. They are sending me a check for my S30...now I'm thinking of getting the S50 or S400 ( I don't want to switch storage mediums). I don't care what people say, the extended warranty is definitely worth it.

I'm calling Canon tomorrow to see what they are going to do with the camera.....I already have an A70 in their repair shop now. I have had 4 Canon products, and three of them have had to go back to Canon for repair.

Canon S30 - door lid problems

Canon A70 - Batteries won't hold charge, and the LCD display flickers

Canon Elura 2 - Shipped with dead battery and flickering LCD display

Canon i950 - so far so good.
